A Word About Us

                          What to Expect

Our worship services look much like the worship you read about in the New Testament-and that's intentional! We participate in these acts of worship as found in God's word:

• Congregational singing: "...teaching and admonishing one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with thankfulness in your hearts to God" (Colossians 3:16)

• Prayers offered up to God: "always offering a prayer for you in my joy" (Philippians 1:4)

• On the first day of every week, we partake of the Lord's Supper to remember His death: "Now on the first day of the week when the disciples came together to break bread" (Acts 20:7)

• Teaching from God's word with Scripture reading and a lesson "...they received the word with all eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see if these things were so" (Acts 17:11)

• The members at Shelby Christian Church take part in contributing to the needs of the church in a collection (1 Corinthians 16: 1-2) This is a privilege and responsibility of those who have identified with the Lord's body at this local congregation. If you visit with us, your presence is a gift enough! We simply ask that you fill out a visitor's card and drop it in the collection plate as it is passed.
